Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) has long been used as a bath herb across traditional practice — even to bathe newborns — to ease discomfort and calm irritated skin. How to use it

1. Lather. Get a pumpful of shower oil and lather onto your body, preferably on dry or slightly damp skin.

2. Emulsify. Add water to the lather and gently massage — the shower oil will turn milky white.

3. Rinse. Rinse thoroughly with water, leaving skin soft and moisturised instead of tight and squeezy.

4. Use it up. Once opened, finish the whole bottle within 3 months.
