Description
This all-natural shampoo bar keeps your scalp's natural protective layer intact while cleansing scalp and hair effectively. Great for use after a heavy sweating day (e.g. after the gym or a hike), when your scalp needs a thorough but gentle cleanse.
This Thuja & Camellia Shampoo Bar doesn't contain silicone-based surfactants, making it gentle on sensitive scalps. It cleanses scalp and hair effectively without stripping away the scalp's natural protective layer the way many chemical-based shampoos do.
Suitable for: Sensitive, reactive scalps; dry and flaky scalp with itch; anyone looking for a gentler alternative to chemical-based shampoo.
Sensation: A rich, lathering wash with a chocolatey scent from camellia seed and a mild, grassy scent from thuja leaves.
Content: 100g. Approximately 30–50 uses, depending on hair length and usage pattern.
How to Use
Wet hair and scalp thoroughly, then work the bar directly onto the scalp or lather it between your hands first before massaging in. Rinse thoroughly with water.
Note: You may experience a transition period when first switching to a natural shampoo bar. During this time, hair may feel slightly waxy as it goes through a process of clearing chemical residue (e.g. SLS, silicone-based surfactants) built up from previous products. After about 7–14 days, most people notice a fresher-feeling scalp and smoother hair texture.
Even after this transition period, a waxy feeling can still occur due to the reaction between hard water (common in Malaysia's water supply, which contains minerals) and the alkaline nature of soap. If this happens, follow up with an acidic rinse (such as diluted apple cider vinegar) to help balance your hair and scalp's pH level.
Caution: Avoid contact with eyes, as camellia seed can be stimulating to this area. Wash thoroughly with clean water if contact occurs.
Ingredients
Camellia Seed Camellia seed is widely used across East Asian countries (China, Taiwan, Japan) in daily culinary and skincare practice. Camellia seed oil is used in cooking and skincare, while the seed shell is ground into powder.
Camellia seed powder is rich in natural saponin, creating a natural lather on contact with water and air. Yao tribal communities in China's Sichuan province have traditionally used camellia seed powder to cleanse their hair daily — a traditional hair care practice behind their notably healthy, lustrous hair.
Thuja Leaf In traditional Chinese herbal practice, thuja leaf has long been valued for supporting scalp comfort and hair vitality. It's traditionally included in hair and scalp care formulations aimed at supporting a fuller, healthier-looking scalp.
Ingredients list: Camellia oleifera seed (Camellia seed), Artemisia vulgaris (Mugwort), Thuja standishii (Thuja), Camellia oleifera Oil (Camellia oil), Ricinus communis (Castor Oil), Oryza Sativa Bran (Rice Bran Oil), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Lye (NaOH, for saponification process).
Baby & Mummy
This Thuja & Camellia Shampoo Bar is safe for newborn babies and pregnant women. Its 100% natural ingredient list makes it a gentler hair wash alternative to many over-the-counter, silicone-based shampoos.

Making another purchase
This shampoo bar took me by surprise. Its very easy to use and surprisingly produces alot bubble eventough it has no nasties. As a person with psoriasis, it is not easy to find a suitable shampoo. Thank you for creating this product. ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness. I've tried so many hair care products for my sensitive yet oily scalp. But this is the best. I've only been using it for a little while and I've noticed an increase in volume. My hair is soft and no longer oily. It didn't feel waxy at all as said in the description. Will definitely continue using it.
I'm ngl, I was pretty skeptical about this shampoo bar. I have oily but easily dried out scalp which can get itchy & flake if its too oily or too dry which results in hair loss. It's super hard for me to balance out my scalp. I've tried loads of organic shampoos/bars and they mostly leave my hair feeling really oily/waxy and disgusting after using it. With this bar, I use it 1x/day for 2-3 days, followed by one day of a more soapy silicon/paraben-free liquid shampoo. I also use a separate scalp oil twice a week. First week, there was a transition period of a moderately waxy feeling after washes but surprisingly nothing too bad and no oily feeling. Second week, my hair became a lot softer and the waxy feeling transformed into some sort of natural hair shine/protection. I'm on my third week now and feeling really happy with this shampoo bar - my scalp no longer over-produces oil and definitely feels a lot more balanced/less random hair loss. I'm going to buy the hair powder soon to rinse after washes as I think that will help too. 10/10 would recommend for people struggling with a scalp that doesn't know how to balance out the oil production/dry flaky feeling!
